Goal:
For our project we wanted to create something that would live on at Wheeler to tell future students what we had done and we thought adding urinal dividers would be the perfect project. Design Proposal: The objective is to make dividers for the Urinals to make the bathrooms better. It needs to be able to stand freely between the urinals and needs to be 6 feet tall. Constrains we have include not being able to attach it directly to the wall along with having a finish on the pieces so it is waterproof. My goal for the project is to paint and finish the pieces of the dividers along with assembling the pieces. People involved: Bryce, Johnathan, Alex. We will use wood that we already have. Build Process: We started out the build process by cutting off parts of the the big pieces of so that they were both the same size. We then spent a couple weeks working on painting the wood and later putting the finish on the wood so it would be waterproof. We later cut the wood needed to hold the two pieces of wood together and then worked on attaching it. We used the long 2 by 4 as the base of dividers and then used the thinner piece of wood to put behind the pipes. We used some duck tape to make it more secure to the wall. Conclusion: Overall, I believe that our project was a success, because we were able to create the urinal dividers and they work as intended. The dividers will be tested by being used in the bathroom and seeing if it holds up in the future. Update: The Urinal dividers were destroyed within two days of being put up due to being horribly mistreated. They were too messed up to be salvaged due to the screws being torn out and being covered with pee, so they were thrown out. |
